Interior drainage systems, crack injection, and sump pump installation to keep your Calgary basement permanently dry — fully warranted.
Calgary's clay-heavy soils absorb water and swell, exerting hydrostatic pressure against foundation walls. During spring thaw and heavy summer rains, this pressure builds quickly. Any crack, cold joint, or deteriorated seal in the foundation becomes a water entry point.
For the vast majority of Calgary water infiltration situations, interior waterproofing is the most cost-effective and permanent solution. Rather than attempting to stop water from reaching the wall (which requires full exterior excavation), interior waterproofing captures water that enters and redirects it safely away from the living space.
The system consists of a perimeter drainage channel installed at the base of the foundation walls, connected to a sump pit where a submersible pump ejects water outside. The system works continuously and silently — you'll never know it's there unless it's doing its job during a storm.
Exterior excavation and membrane application is recommended when the exterior waterproofing membrane has completely failed, structural repairs to the outside of the foundation are needed, or new construction provides the opportunity to do it right from the start. For existing homes with water infiltration issues, interior systems almost always solve the problem at a fraction of the cost.
A perimeter drainage channel redirects water entering the walls to a sump pit — keeping the floor dry regardless of exterior conditions.
